Hurricane Dorian Flash Estimate

Hurricane Dorian was only one of two hurricanes with wind speeds of 185 mph to make landfall in the Atlantic basin since 1900. Devastating Category 5 wind speeds impacted Abaco and Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas for over 24 hours. The storm moved offshore along the coast of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina before making landfall in Cape Hatteras, NC. KCC estimates the majority of insured losses in the Caribbean will occur in the Bahamas, and low-level wind damage across multiple states contributed to the US losses.
