Hurricane Michael was a strong Category 4 hurricane that made landfall in Mexico Beach, Florida, on October 10, 2018, and had the fourth-highest wind speeds of a hurricane to make landfall in US recorded history. KCC has estimated that insured loss from this event will span five states, with the majority of loss in Florida and Georgia.
