Nicholson, Director of the Florida Catastrophic Storm Risk Management Center of Florida State University, on a paper entitled "The Florida Insurance Market: An Analysis of Vulnerabilities to Future Hurricane Losses" published in the Journal of Insurance Regulation. Using the Characteristic Event (CE) methodology pioneered by KCC, the paper shares the results of a detailed analysis on the impacts of 20-, 50-, and 100-year hurricanes on the Florida residential insurance market and demonstrates the state's vulnerability to hurricane losses.
